Cambodia Casinos

There is a captivating background to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just across the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, where gambling hall gaming is prohibited. Eight gambling dens are anchored in a relatively tiny space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia casinos is in a prime spot, a three to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very couple of Westerners. The astonishing income accrued from the casinos ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a number of controls requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mainly Thai; however, investment sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 17:00, and even though visas are for all intents and purposes necessary to cross, there are methods and means around this, as is real of most borders.

The 1st Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored ship casino, highlights one hundred and fifty slot machine games and 60 gaming tables. The Naga gambling hall never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of chemin de fer, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long followed. There are one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and five tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slot machine games and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 96 gaming tables, including 87 punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 one armed bandits and 66 of the normal table games, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 casinos in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a multinational resort and hotel building that features a number of conveniences aside from the casino, which offers ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 one armed bandits and eighty eight tables.
